民主党内でかつて菅氏を支持した議員でさえ、原発事故や事故後の対応における同氏の能力を疑問視する者もいる。菅政権で官房長官を務めた枝野幸男氏は、先月、菅氏について、「攻めの政治家としての破壊力や突破力というものは、すごいものがあると思う。しかし危機管理と、日々の発信というのは攻めの局面ではない」と述べている。

当の菅氏はあくまでマイペースだ。「色々な批判のなかに、唐突だとか、思いつきだというものがあった。人間は思いつかないと発信できない。思いつきはいいこと、私にとってはポジティブなこと」と同氏は語る。
